In this photo retouching assignment, we were asked to take this photo of a car and edit it to make the image cleaner. I learned how to clone and remove things in a picture I didn't want. I also learned different ways to select a part of an image and edit only that part.

For this weeks photo assignment, I decided to take my camera to the gym. In this series, I wanted to capture the equipment itself and the gymnasts who have dedicated their lives to making this extremely difficult sport look graceful. I learned how to use the natural lighting to emphasize the subject, in my case, a gymnast. Shutter Speed: 1/125
Aperture: f/11.0 ISO 400 In Photoshop, I increased the vibrancy and contrast to get the result shown. For this photo assignment, I focused on animals as my subject. I decided to take pictures of my dog, Maggie, and some farm animals. The story on how I ended up at a local farm is a funny one; I went over to my Nana and Papa's house to get some pictures of their hummingbird visitors, however, none had been there recently so my Nana came up with the idea of driving down to a local farm and take pictures of some of their animals. Mind you, I had no idea who these people were. So we get there and the owners ended up being very nice and let my Nana and I see the animals. The roosters were pretty mean, but the sheep were extremely cute. My best photo displayed above is a photo of my dog. The settings that it was taken at were-
Shutter speed: 1/25 Aperture: f/3.5 ISO 200 The adjustments were increased saturation and contrast to really compliment the wood background with the animal focus. For our pop art assignment, we were asked to choose a single photo, change the threshold, and the color, four times, to create a piece similar to Andy Warhol's paintings. The final products were extremely different from the originals, which can be seen below. The 4 images are now squared with a different threshold and colors, creating an interesting piece. Through this project, I learned how to change the color and format of photos I take. I also learned how to better navigate photoshop when it comes to finding the correct buttons and saving photos properly. After I had done all the steps through multiple times, I could then navigate myself to the end product without looking at the instructions.
For this project, we were asked to research 11 different types of composition techniques and then go out and shoot photos that demonstrated each one. The strategies we learned during this assignment are: rule of thirds, balance, color, depth of field, lines, pattern, perspective, space, symmetry, texture, and framing. Throughout this week, I learned how to set up my photos so they can turn out better than they had before. Even just angling my camera a different way changed the shot dramatically. I learned different ways to compose my shots so they draw the readers eye in the way I want.
